Glass vs Plastic Perfume Bottles: Which Should You Use?

Why fragrance favors glass

Glass is chemically inert and impermeable, so it does not react with perfume oils or alcohol-based fragrance, and it preserves the scent over time. It also carries a premium weight and clarity, is recyclable, and supports high-quality decoration such as frosting and hot foil.

Where plastic is used

Plastic is lighter, less breakable and lower cost, and appears in travel samples, testers, body sprays and some secondary packaging. It is generally perceived as lower value and can be more sensitive to fragrance chemistry, so it is less common for a premium flagship.

A common compromise

Many brands use glass for the flagship and plastic for the smallest sample or tester, balancing presentation with cost and safety. We manufacture glass bottles and supply the matched components.
