Round bottles are also the most efficient shape to manufacture and pack. There are no corners to protect, the walls form evenly, and the same bottle can be produced in clear flint, frosted or fully color-coated without changing the tooling. This makes the cylinder a sensible starting point for a new range and a dependable format for high-volume, repeat orders.

Because the form has no sharp edges, the cylinder is forgiving during filling and transit and is less prone to corner chips. We deliberately thicken the base to add weight and prevent tipping, and we control the neck diameter to a consistent tolerance so the pump and cap seat correctly. A well-made cylinder should feel substantial at the bottom and smooth at the shoulder.

The round form pairs naturally with both simple disc caps and substantial weighted closures, and it works with a standard crimp or screw neck. Capacity and proportions can be tuned while keeping the same visual language across a range.

Materials and construction

We form this bottle from clear flint glass on our production line and then anneal it to remove internal stress. Soda-lime glass is chosen for fragrance because it is transparent, chemically stable with alcohol and gives the liquid its true colour. The annealing process matters as much as the forming: it is what gives the finished bottle its strength.

Weight and stability are built into the base, and the shoulder and neck are formed to a repeatable profile so the spray pump and cap locate correctly. Bottles are inspected on the line for stones, bubbles, cracks and dimensional errors, and the neck is the critical dimension that we control most closely.

Capacity and dimensions

In its standard format this round bottle holds 50 ml and measures approximately 128 mm high by 44 mm wide. Because the bottle is made on our own moulds, fill volume and proportions can be tuned to your fragrance, and we commonly produce 10, 15, 30, 50 and 100 ml versions. The 50 ml bottle is the flagship size for many eau de parfum and eau de toilette lines. It is large enough to feel substantial and to present the bottle design at its best, but still comfortable to hold and to carry. When a brand visualizes its hero bottle, the 50 ml format is often the one that appears in the campaign imagery.

Color matching is done against a Pantone standard, and the cap and box are matched to the same reference. The decorated surface is cured in line and then verified for durability so that it does not wear during filling, handling or its time on the shelf.
